Nicholas Randall 2025 -Standing at 5’10” Randall is the tallest and most recognizable player in the 5th & 6th Grade Division. Randall is an energetic forward that uses his length and athleticism to dominate smaller players near the rim. Randall pursues rebounds with the type of eagerness that’s cherished by coaches. Randall was consistent in scoring and showed in the painted area and showed confidence attacking off the dribble from the elbow and short corner areas.
River Randall 2025- River is a confident guard with a mature feel for the game. Randall is a confident player that displays a skill set beyond his age. During the contest, he performed well as a facilitator and as a scorer. As a facilitator, his court vision, passing ability and ball handling allowed him to reward open teammates with timely passes. As a scorer, he knocked down shots from behind the arc and in the mid-range. Randall was equally comfortable attacking off the dribble and when fouled, he simply collected his pay at the foul stripe.
Donovan Meads 2025- The speedy Meads is a dynamo. This match featured Meads against a talented Christian Williams. The battle was an instant league classic. The action came fast and furious as I watched Meads jet down the court with the ball and pull out plenty of moves to get the ball past defenders and into scoring position. Meads had it all going in this game knocking down threes, drilling the stop and pop, gently releasing floaters and completing old-fashioned layups. The kid is a competitor and his desire to win was evident on both ends of the ball.
Dylan Humphrey 2025- Dylan is a solidly built guard that can score at all three levels. The most impressive thing about Dylan was his efficiency. This kid took no plays off and made his presence felt on offense and defense. Humphrey is not flashy but was still able to catch my eye because he seemed to be involved in every key play on both sides of the ball. On defense, he got several deflections and steals. Humphrey was the first body to hit the floor for loose balls. Dylan also scored key baskets off aggressive drives and transition layups. His strength allows him to finish well through contact.
Cameron Williams 2023- The 6’5” Williams had a breakout performance today. Williams is a nimble big man that seemed to have hit his stride in the league. On offense, Williams effortlessly dominates players near the basket. He has good hands, nice balance and squares and is not phased by a bump or two. Williams has an unusually soft shooting touch for a young big. In transition, he makes trips to both ends of the floor, blocking shots, running for layups and keying breaks with quick outlet passes. As an added bonus, Williams also launched several threes that left the hand nicely and found the bottom of the net.
Jayden Nicholson 2023- The top player in the league also happened to be the number three player in the country. Nicholson’s court cred was unscathed Saturday as he dismantled the different defensive schemes that were thrown at him. Nicholson is a handful on the court. He stands at 6’4”, has the frame of a varsity player and is a skilled and versatile scorer. Jayden was aggressive to the basket and there was little that defenders could do to stop him. Nicholson is able to score at all three levels and is not afraid to take his defender to the block to show off his dandy post moves. Nicholson already checks off all of the boxes as a high level talent.
